Created in collaboration with Rapture Editions, West reflects the West Coast, where Ola Volo made her home for over a decade. The work connects the viewer to water, mountains, wind, sun, and the rhythms of life. Flowing through the composition are birds, whales, sea lions, flowers, and river-to-ocean movement, all woven into the dress of a strong yet humble female figure. She holds her crown delicately, suggesting both strength and the fragility of nature and human life.
